3kW transient supression

Surge capability is 3kW at 10/1,000μs to meet the specifications of ISO 16750-2 Pulse b.

Called the SMC3KxxxCAHM3_A series, leakage current can be as low as 1μA from 22 to 120V, and operatioj is up to 175°C.


For high reliability, the parts are AEC-Q101 qualified “and offer extremely stable breakdown voltage from 11.1V to 133V across their entire operating temperature range of -55°C to +175°C”, according to the company.



There are 33 devices in the range, standing-off from 10V to 120V, with maximum clamping from 17V to 193V (10/1,000μs).

The devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, and offer moisture sensitivity level (MSL) 1 in accordance with J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260°C.

Applications are forseen protectign against transients induced by inductive load switching, lightning and automotive load dump.
